The Glendale Gateway Trust is very proud of The Margery Stephenson Small Grants Scheme - a fund that makes small grants to community groups across Glendale.
The fund was started with a legacy received from the estate of the late Margery Stephenson who was a member of the Trust.
Any community group working to GGT’s aim of ‘Making life better for the people of Glendale’ is eligible to apply. Groups will need to briefly demonstrate how they intend to use the funds and how this will benefit the community. Individuals, statutory organisations and political parties are not eligible for this grant scheme. Groups applying should have their own bank account - payments will not be made to individuals.
The goal is to inspire community initiatives that bring people together and enrich the lives of people living, working and growing up in Glendale. Margery was a tremendous supporter of community life in our area, so it is fitting that her legacy will be used to make a lasting difference to the lives of others.
Community groups need not be registered charities to apply, but should have a clearly defined aim and an accountable management group or organising committee. The maximum amount of any one grant will normally be £200, but in exceptional circumstances may be more.
Decisions: A panel of 3 GGT Trustees will be responsible for approving applications. The panel will meet as and when required and will respond to applications as promptly as possible. The awarding panel will report periodically to the Board of Trustees.
Applications should be made via an application form available to download here, or from The Glendale Gateway Trust’s office at The Cheviot Centre, Wooler. Telephone 01668 282406 or email [email protected].
